BLEACH

Biography

[BLEACH]

It's no exaggeration to call Okinawa trio BLEACH "hard hitting."

The trio is one of the tightest, most passionate hardcore bands around. Formed in 1998, BLEACH has so far followed a traditionally indie approach to its career.

In 1999, BLEACH appeared on one of the Benten label's "Bentoh" compilations, as well as other collections on Japanese indie labels. The following year, the band formed its own label, and with the help of Micro-Force Records, the Bleach-run Ripley Records released a single, "Otoko Icchokusen", and an album, Kibakuzai.

BLEACH soon after signed with Toshiba-EMI and toured the U.S. as part of the Japan Nite 2001 Tour. The band released two more singles and a second album, Hadaka no Jyoou, the following year. Bleach returned to SXSW in 2002 as one of the Japan Nite headliners.

BLEACH signed a new label deal in 2003 with Okinawa indie Highwave, and in 2004, the band released its self-titled third album.

In 2003, BLEACH moved back to independent labels, and in 2004, the trio released a self-titled third album.

Because of a Christian band using the same name, BLEACH has alternately billed itself as Bleachmobile and, more recently, Bleach03.
