A number of bands ranging from Luminous Orange to Number Girl have mastered the ability to wed dischordant harmonies with sweet melodies. Condor44 is another such band.

The trio alternate from energetic, rhythmically tricky rockers to more psychedelic slow songs. Singers Sasaki Hirofumi and Ishida Chikako trade vocal duties in a fashion similar to Supercar.

Sasaki and drummer Ajima Noboyuki met in vocational school in 1999 and started Condor44 in the summer that year. Ishida joined in September on bass guitar, completing the trio.

The band has appeared on a number of compilations for different labels and released three albums on Daizawa. In 2003, Condor44 participated in the SXSW festival's Japan Nite.
