ミナコ (Minako)

[ミナコ (Minako)]

Although she's so far recorded only one album, Minako commands a versatile musical vocabulary.

Her challenging debut album, Suck It Till Your Life Ends, explores music ranging from country to dub to pop over the course of 13 songs. Jazz pianist Don Grusin arranged and performed on the album, which was recorded in Hawai´i.

Minako's mature voice calls to mind Linda Rondstadt one minute, Sinéad O'Connor the next.

Born in Germany and a student of a number of international schools, Minako says she became a singer in Japan to reach to out her generation. Her demo tape accidentally landed in the hands of a producer, and it led to her signing with Victor Entertainment.

Minako is currently a science major at Waseda University.
